Steps
- On the Bench screen, choose the aircraft, then tap Dihedral.
- At the top, choose Dihedral or Washout.
- For dihedral, lay the iPhone across the left panel, top toward the left wingtip, and tap Capture.
- Lay it across the right panel, top toward the right wingtip, and tap Capture.
- For washout, lay the iPhone front to back at the root, top toward the leading edge. Tap Capture, then do the same at the tip.
- Check the result, then tap the Save button to store it with the wing.
Good to know
- The model doesn't need to sit level. Its bank cancels out of the total.
- Capture the center section too, to see the left and right sides separately.
- Measure or type in the wing first. Dihedral and washout are saved with it.
Words used here
- Dihedral
- The upward angle of each wing panel. It helps the model level its wings by itself.
- Washout
- A twist that sets the wingtip's leading edge lower than the root's. It helps the root stall before the tip. The opposite twist is wash-in.
- Root
- The inner end of a wing or stab, where it meets the fuselage.
- Tip
- The outer end of a wing or stab.
- Leading edge
- The front edge of a wing, stab or control surface.
